Government Announce Funding to Improve Railway Station Accessibility

The Government has today launched its Inclusive Transport Strategy, which sets out plans to ensure disabled people have the same access to transport and opportunities to travel as everyone else, irrespective of whether their impairment is visible or less visible.

 

East Midlands Trains

I have been in discussion with East Midlands Trains about resuming Bedford stopping services during the ongoing rail disruption. You will have seen the earlier response on my website from them explaining why they felt unable to do this.

Meeting with Govia Thameslink and Rail User Groups

On Saturday morning I attended a meeting with Govia Thameslink and local Rail User Groups. I am very grateful to those that attended to represent our local stations and their users, and particularly to Arlesey Rail User Group for preparing the attached minutes.

15th July Interim Timetables

I have today seen the interim timetables, attached below, published by Govia Thameslink for stations in and around my constituency. On paper there is a definite improvement to the services previously on offer, but after many broken promises only time will tell.

Declassification of First Class Carriages

I am delighted that the sensible decision to declassify all peak time 1st class carriages on Thameslink & Great Northern trains has finally been made. I am pleased to have at least achieved this small concession for my constituents struggling through this awful disruption.
