Alistair Burt has welcomed new figures showing that, due to changes to workplace pensions, over 10 million more people are now saving for retirement. In NE Bedfordshire, 10,000 people are now enrolled in a workplace pension.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has announced the allocation of a further £46 million for the Rough Sleeping Initiative fund to support those sleeping rough and those at risk in 246 local authorities across England. Of this, £383,323 has been awarded to Bedford Borough
The Department for International Development’s Small Charities Challenge Fund provides grants to small British charities for projects that help the UK achieve the Global Goals. Applications are reviewed on a six-monthly basis and the closing date for the next review is 28 March.
