Agriculture Bill Update

Many amendments to the Agriculture Bill have been tabled and I appreciate the emails I continue to receive asking me to support certain ones. The Government are currently reflecting on these amendments, as well as concerns raised by colleagues and interested parties.

NSPCC’s Close the Loophole campaign

I appreciate the emails I have received recently from constituents regarding the NSPCC’s Close the Loophole campaign.  I agree that the protection of children and young people must remain a priority and understand the concerns that have been expressed.

Immigration Bill and NHS Staffing

I have been contacted by constituents recently regarding the Immigration Bill and concerns that it may affect staff numbers in the NHS and care sector.

Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill

Thank you to those who have emailed me recently about the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill, which will introduce legislation to replace the current system known as 'Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards'.  I appreciate the concerns that have been raised.

Update - Universal Credit
