Alistair attended the launch of the Thurleigh Parish Plan and was pleased to present the finished plan to Parish Chairman Toni Smith. Alistair said 'I am delighted to see the Parish Plan and to know how much hard work has gone in by so many people in the village. When a village puts so much effort into such a report it gives a real structure and form to how the village wishes to move forward in the next few years. Well done to everyone involved.' |

| FairTrade meeting at Biggleswade |

North East Bedfordshire MP has welcomed the discussion on ‘Fairtrade’ held at St Andrews Church, Biggleswade on Saturday 8th March. Mr Burt had encouraged the meeting between local supporters of Fairtrade and members of the local council, who have been approached about the possibility of Biggleswade becoming a ‘Fairtrade’ town. |

| Save Roxton Post Office |

North East MP Alistair Burt was in Roxton this week-end to accept a petition from Councillor Tom Wootton, signed by virtually the whole of the population, showing their determination to keep their local post office. The post office is annexed to the local pub, the Royal Oak, and Mr Burt addressed a large turn out of villagers gathered to hand it over. |
