ALISTAIR RAN THE 2016 LONDON MARATHON
I ran my 10th London Marathon this year - not my best time, 6 hours, but I wasn't there to break records. So far have raised a shade over £11,000 (with gift aid) to split between Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger, a place that I know is very close to the hearts of many in NE Bedfordshire and beyond, and with Combat Stress who I have got to know through my Ministerial work in the mental health field, who do fantastic work with our veterans.
I know many people will already have charities that they support both individually and corporately, so I am hugely grateful to all those who have supported me so far.

It was a great day - London and the UK at its best, streets packed with people, cheering others on, supporting thousands of different charities and driving the runners to another mile on mile. Many thanks to everyone who ran, organised, supported, volunteered, and worked in the emergency services. Fantastic all round.
As MP for North East Bedfordshire my main job is to represent the constituents of the area, and I hope you will find this website helpful in seeing what I do both in Parliament and in the constituency. You can also find contact details for my team, and details of advice centre appointment booking.
If this is your first visit, you can find more information about me on the 'About Alistair' page.
Keep an eye on Articles and Press Releases to keep up to date with my recent visits and some of the things happening in and around NE Bedfordshire.
My Facebook page - Alistair Burt MP - also carries information on recent activities.
Please head over to my 'Hot Topics' page to read my views on the topics I am currently being contacted about most - some of the most recent being:
- Proposed Changes to the National Planning Policy Framework
- Academy Changes Update May 2016
- Use of Neonicotinoids Update May 2016
- Trade Union Act Information May 2016
- Freedom of Information Act Review Update April 2016
I am always grateful that constituents take the time to email me regarding campaigns that are taking place and I direct people to this page to read my reply. This allows me to post updates on fast moving topics; as well as saving resources. If you have any further concerns after reading my response please do feel free to contact me again with further questions.
